Children are safer on decks with composite deck board

Many people want an outside deck for the whole family, especially for the kids. The composite deck board is safe for kids to play on. Not only does it not have any harmful chemicals, but it also doesn’t make any trash or mold. Composite deck board is also good at keeping kids from slipping and falling while they are playing.

You might think that children can play on wood decking just as well. But children shouldn’t play barefoot on a traditional wood deck. This is because the wood tends to split and bend. Children can easily get hurt by the splinters that are left behind. Most wooden decks also need to be treated to make them waterproof and last longer. This means that wood decks will have formaldehyde and other chemicals in them. The health of children is also easy to hurt.

What is the floor of a composite deck made of?

Composite material is made from wood pulp and plastic that has been used before. Because it is made of plastic, it can stand up to water and corrosion without being treated with chemicals. It also doesn’t chip or crack, so kids who walk barefoot aren’t at risk.

You can choose composite decking with a grooved surface because it is a man-made composite. Grooved composite decking boards not only change the look of the house but also make it safer. But also make sure that children don’t slip and fall.

How composite decking boards came to be

Composites have been around since the beginning of time. Composite materials have become more common in recent years, and composite deck board was first used in the late 1990s. The first composite decking only came in one color and felt like plastic. But as composite materials keep getting better, composite decking now not only has a surface that looks like real wood grain, but it also comes in a wide range of colors and styles to match different design styles.

The best thing about composite deck flooring is that it doesn’t need much upkeep. It doesn’t need to be stained or taken care of in any of the other ways that a wood deck does. It gives you more time to enjoy life and play outside with your kids.

There are no nails or screws that are sharp

There are many different kinds, but grooved composite decking can be put together with hidden fasteners. Take away the risk that your child’s feet will get cut on a screw head as they slide across the deck. In fact, they will slide across the deck.

Also, fewer socks will get torn. If your kids are like mine, they usually play outside while wearing their socks. Out on the deck, the fasteners are hidden, so the socks won’t get caught and ripped.

Kids will love a pool with composite decking

On hot days, kids can set up a wading pool on a composite deck to cool off in the sun. And for a long time, water has been a lot of fun.

On one side of the deck, you can set up the pool, and on the other, you can lay on your lounger. That’s how a day at the beach should go for a young family. A composite deck is good for a kiddie pool because water doesn’t hurt it.

Composite decking doesn’t get damaged by water like wood does when it gets wet. It doesn’t soak up much of the water that splashes on it.

Easy-to-clean decking that doesn’t stain

Who doesn’t like a hotdog or ice cream when they’re out in the sun? I like both of them even when it’s cloudy, but that’s not what I want to talk about. Kids will drop anything you give them, from ketchup to ice cream cones.

This is a great place for composite decking to shine. Because it’s so easy to clean up. You can clean up the mess with a cloth and some water as if it never happened.

Many companies, like COOWIN, Trex, EVODEK, and TimberTech, that make composite decking offer a one-week warranty against food stains. If you drop it and can’t find it until the weekend after the next. It doesn’t matter much. Just clean it up, and you’ll be able to use your deck again. But I have to say that dried-out ketchup will need a little more water to wash off.

One exception. Sunscreen lotion. You don’t want the kids to get sunburned, so put sunscreen on them whether they are inside or outside. Something in that lotion that blocks UV rays can be bad for composite decking.

Doesn’t a composite deck get too hot for kids to play on?

So, kind of. Like any other flat surface or decking material, composite decking gets hot in the sun. The temperature will change as soon as you move from the grass to your deck. This means that on a hot day, kids might not want to play on composite decking.

Composite decking is also better than wood because it tends to keep less heat than wood. This means that if you shade the deck, it won’t get hot even on a hot day. When designing a deck, adding a pergola, awning, or privacy wall can make a big difference in how hot or cold the decking is. You could also do the same thing with an umbrella.
