How to Tell If Your Home Has Siding or Cladding
You cannot tell from the outside alone. Both systems look identical once finished.
To check, carefully remove a small section of the exterior material near the base of a wall. If the material is attached directly to the sheathing or house wrap with no gap, you have direct-applied siding.
